Crysis 2 installation troubles?

I bought Crysis 2 a while back, beat it, then uninstalled it (but kept my saved games/data) off my computer a few months back because I needed more room on my hard drive. Today I got in the mood to play, but ran into some trouble.



When I stick in the CD there is no installation option, only Play, Technical Support, View the readme file, and Quit. This is all well and good, however when I click "Play" a patch begins to download.



Here's where things catch up on themselves: When the patch finishes downloading it tells me that it can't locate any place to put it, due to the fact that the game technically doesn't exist on my computer anymore. However, its not giving me the option of installing it again. So essentially its a never ending cycle. Can anyone help me with this problem?Crysis 2 installation troubles?

Crysis 2 Nano Catalyst Bug?

Okay, i just beat the crysis 2 campaign, and it was... awesome, to say the least. And when I replay it, I get all of my nanosuit modules that I had before in my other playthrough, which I like better because it gives me different ways to play the game from the beginning on. It's just that now, I can no longer collect Nano Catalyst anymore, which sucks because I still had 2 Modules left to unlock. I'm using PC and I just downloaded the 1.2 Patch and it did nothing to solve this problem. Is there anyone who has experienced the same problem and can help me?

Because your .exe is cracked, put the original in and just install the patch 1.9 then the dx11 patch then the high res textures if you want them and then put the cracked .exe back in and it will work.Why i cant update my crysis 2 ?

never saw the additional details there, you do need another crack for dx11, once you patch it search the pirate bay for the 1.9 crack and it'll work.

Should I buy Crysis 2 PC version?

I know there are dozens of 90+ reviews of Crysis 2 out there but I also heard that the game has been dumb down compared to the first. I heard Crysis 2 is more linear, suit is now weaker, and the enemy AI is glitchy. I hope the next patch, which the developer is planning to post for download, will fix one or two of these problems. Should I wait for the patch before I buy the game, should I buy right away, or should I avoid this game?



I enjoyed playing the first Crysis because the game allowed me to approach the enemies in various ways and made me feel like a super hero. And I'm afraid to buy the sequel because of these rumors. Sadly, cracks to play online for Crysis 2 don't exist. The games requires a product key, and each key is unique to the game. So it's extremely hard for crackers to create a product key that would work.

Crysis 2 lag for unknown reason.?

My Crysis 2 PC game lags for an unknown reason. I'm at the last mission (a walk in the park) and it never lagged like that before. Well it's not really a "lag" its like motion blur is overflowing. So whenever I move my mouse the game responds after 1 second and everything is just falling behind.

I HAVE set motion blur and FOV OFF with "Crysis 2 advanced graphics options tool"

I HAVE tried different graphic options.

I HAVE patched the game.

I DO NOT have a pirate version of the game.

My graphics card: Invidia GeForce GT 330M.

System: Windows 7 home premium.

After playing the game WITH lag my laptop overheats and turns off. And its about +80C

Weird thing is that I had the same problem with the DEMO version of the game.

Crysis 2 or Brink (explanation please!) ?

Ok, I am almost done saving some extra money to get a new game (I have Xbox 360) and after seeing the competition I just can't make my mind up! I was going to get Homefront but after my brother bought and sold it, I became aware of the neglectful developers who didn't think it necessary to patch the freezes. So didn't get that. He then got Crysis 2 and that was "my cuppa tea(!)" I loved the graphics (I'm no graphics freak) and the gameplay, the weapons and suit modes -EVRYTHING! But then I saw Brink... a campaign and multiplayer wrapped up into one? Customizabiliy to the highest extent? Thankyou very much! What gripped my with this is that I love customizing charactars, and keeping that for online is a great idea! But Crysis 2 still looks good, so which one to get? Both are great games. I would say that Crysis 2, dissapointed me a little. Yeah, graphics are top-notch, but to be honest I think that game lost it charm. Multiplayer is good, something like COD series. Single player is nice, computer controlled characters are smart enought, it's like you are playing Counter Strike online. Brink is more multiplayer based game than singleplayer, you could jump basically on any platform, it's like Mirrors Edge mixed with Fps. It's really hard to say which is better, but if you don't play xbox live, buy Crysis 2, if you have, then take the Brink, it has more customization, but you can't deny that crysis 2 hasn't, you can upgrade and mod your weapons and so on.

BTW when I said before that you can jump anywhere and on anything in Brink, i forgot to mention that that system is called S.m.a.r.t.

Crysis 2, help with installation please?

i got it today, its on dvd and my optical drive is broken so i installed the game onto an external harddrive with my laptop , copied it to my desktop and i can play the game, but it never needed to do any installation process, but i cannot use multiplayer as i cant patch the game cause wen its done it says "cant find game" or something reinstall crysis 2, but how do i actually install it now that i have it copied over??????Crysis 2, help with installation please?
why have it copied into your main HDD..

just install the game again, as you did into your External drive, put up a shortcut to the game launcher from the installed directory, which is your External drive. and play !

Whenever you need to play, just connect your external.. No worries in that :)

Hi, I am planning on getting Crysis 2 when it comes out. However, I'm having trouble with deciding witch version I should get. I've heard the PC version will have excellent graphics with Direct X 11, but the patch will come later. The PS3 has worse graphics but, the game still looks great.

Why can't I play Crysis well?

I'm confused at why my PC isn't running Crysis well. I have the setting at optimal, which is medium at 1074 x 768. My gpu is a 240gt which is comparable to a 9600gt and that is supposed to run Crysis at around 60+ at those settings. I am currently getting 25 fps and when large firefights occur, 15 fps. The game also stutters and the sound makes cracking noises. I have no AA on, motion blur off, and sound quality low. Lowering the graphics doesn't seem to improve the crackling much, and I don't feel like playing on low settings. Also, I have the latest patches for Crysis installed.

Anyone have an idea what is wrong? Is my processor not cut out for the game?

If I increase the resolution to 1280 x 1024 and place the settings on high (except for shader quality) I get about 3 less fps only.

there's nothing wrong with your system. Quite frankly, Crysis needs at least a 8800gt or 9800gt or ATI equivalent (4830/4850) to play well on medium settings. As well, you should try overclocking that 4600+ to at least 2.8/2.9

I have installed the Crysis Patches 1.1 - 1.2 - 1.21 in this order and after I started the game and loaded the last level I was on, the game wont let me move !!! I just installed the recent crysis 2 sandbox 3 editor. I have a steam bought version of crysis 2. The editor works fine, I can change terrain, add objects, AI etc, but everytime I try to load a texture the editor crashes, everytime. I tried re-installing the game and the editor and I have the 1.9 patch already. Well i have a PC setup that should be more than capable of running crysis on very high spec

My problem is, when i run crysis on Very high (at 1440x900) i only have about 14 frames per second?! I had more than that on my old 8600 GT! and even if i put everything to Low, the fps is still only around 25-26!

I have tried turning individual settings down but no fix :S

I am running Nvidia's newest drivers and the crysis 1.2 patch.



I mean i thought my PC was good enough to run it as it plays Oblivion on max with 16xAA and 16AF and some texture mods etc and plays CoD4 on Max as well both at around 60 FPS!

You should be seeing better performance on your computer than you are. Check that you have AA and AF off. update you drivers. overclock your card slighty.

Yesterday patch 1.2 came out for the crysis 2 demo, after downloading and installing it, my virusscanner gave me 4 virusses, i ignored them and i tried to run the demo but it says: Could not acces CrySystem.dll (check working directory)

if the Virus Scanner detected 4 Viruses, why the hell would you proceed to use it? Chances are that you downloaded a fake file. I would download MalwareBytes and run it immediately.

Your looknig at "Crysis Wars" patches there which are amongst the "Crysis warhead" patches, so ignore those. I believe Crysis warhead only has the 1.00 patch so just download that one :)

Why won't crysis 2 work?

A friend of mine gave me Crysis 2 (Xbox360) as a gift it's a PAL version of the game and I have a NTSC console and when i went to play it it gave me "unsupported region" which really put me down and I don't understand why because i have played PAL games such as Gears of War 2, Assassin's Creed II Halo 3 and Halo ODST on my american console without problem. How do I install the hotfix 1.21 patch for Crysis?

I have downloaded the 1.1, 1.2, and hotfix (1.21) patch. if i install 1.2 and then try to run crysis it will not work and says there is an emulator error. the same thing happens if i install all three patches.. should i try to install 1.2 and 1.21 only?

Here is the issue. Many places that had those patches up for down load had a corrupted version.



DO NOT down load the other patches.



You should go in and remove and reinstall the game. Next go to File Planet and open a free account and down load patch 1.21 ONLY.



Load that patch and your ready to go.



I had the same issue as you and I had to do a lot of research before I got the right answer and the issue resolved.



As an added note, unless you are running very high end equipment, go into the system settings and hit the button to let the game configure the settings. If you start trying to monkey around with screen resolutions and such, your game will get buggy as its real demanding.



One last thing. In system settings, be sure to click the full screen box. It will try to run smaller if you don't.

Crysis 2 Failed to initialize the GameStartup Interface!?

So i got Crysis 2, set the settings on maximum and worked fine. Today, i downloaded the 1.9 patch for Crysis 2, the directX11 patch, and the high resolution textures patch. Everything was installed successfully. But when i run the game from the shortcut, it says : Failed to initialize the GameStartup Interface!

What is causing this? Maybe the files weren't patched correctly?

My specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz

4 gb RAM

ATI Radeon HD 5750 1gb

DirectX 11

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

the exact same thing happened to me and i have been trying for over a week to get some help from ea support. so far just generic replies that have no value whatsoever. they finally said to uninstall and re-install. i also have windows 7 64 bit. i was almost all the way through the single player game when it automatically downloaded the 1.9 patch. since then i cannot even get to the game. good luck.

Hello, I downloaded game and offcourse i dint bought it so i had to crack it, but when i downlaoded Crysis wars patch1 it is inpossible to update it always sayz this: "Crysis wars patch installation has been cancelled. Run setup again at a later time to install Crysis Wars Patch" But i did it and still wont insall. So I decided to reinstall whole game, still cant update and also i tried to update it in safe mode but still dont work. Anyone any ideas?????

Ive tried installing 1.9, i downloaded and bought crysis 2 while steam still had it. when i tried downloading all the patches, it said couldnt find, i saved them to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\crysis 2, still. couldn't find, am i doing someting wrong or what...?How do i install crysis 2 patches when i have steam...?
Games are typically patched automatically on Steam. You don't need to download patches separately.

Don't worry about it, the patch is fine. I have Crysis and when I patched it to the 1.2 version the menu screen showed me the old version number but the patch works fine (I think Crytek forgot to update the version number of the menu screen).Crysis patch didn't work?

I have the steam version of Crysis 2. The 1.9 patch was automaticly updated. After it was updated, I applied the texture and DX 11 patch. It seems the texture patch is fine because I can enable it but the DX 11 is still greyed and disabled even after applying the patch. My GPU is Direct X 11 capable (Ati Radeon 6870). I want to install the 1.2 patch on the original crysis and everytime I do I get an error. Something about not reading the disk. I have the iso, I lost my disk, but still had the key written down, so it's legal. I mounted it using daemon tools, but I cant get It to install. Hey there, I'm having problems patching Crysis to version 1.9. When the patch gets downloaded from EA Download Manager and I give the program permissions it says the patch has already been installed previously.
